Barcelona-based connected TV technology company Titan OS has raised $46 million in a new funding round comprising equity and debt to expand its international operations, strengthen television manufacturer partnerships and improve its smart TV operating system.

The equity investment came from existing investors Highland Europe and Mangrove Capital Partners, while the debt facility was provided by funds and accounts managed by BlackRock.

The latest financing brings Titan OS's total funding to $110 million. The company previously raised approximately $58 million in December 2025 through a Series A round led by Highland Europe.

Founded in 2023 by Jacinto Roca, Timothy Edwards, Miquel Barba and Tobias Pfalzgraff, Titan OS is developing an independent operating system for connected televisions. Roca previously founded Wuaki.tv, the streaming service acquired by Rakuten and later known as Rakuten TV.

Building an alternative operating system for smart TVs

Titan OS provides television manufacturers with an operating system that combines content discovery, streaming services and advertising technology.

Its business model is designed to help manufacturers generate revenue beyond the initial sale of television hardware. Through partnerships with free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels and advertising placements across different screens, manufacturers can participate in revenue generated through the operating system.

This approach offers television brands an additional source of income while giving advertisers access to audiences across multiple television manufacturers.

The model is particularly relevant as hardware manufacturers face increasing component and chipset costs and look for additional revenue opportunities beyond device sales.

User base grows to 30 million

Titan OS now reaches 30 million users, compared with 18 million a year earlier, according to the company.

It has expanded its manufacturer partnerships over the past year, adding Sharp, AOC, Vestel and Skyworth to its network.

One of its most significant partnerships is with Philips. The electronics manufacturer has adopted Titan OS for its 2026 television models, replacing Google TV on those models.

The company also works with content and advertising partners. It serves as a sales partner for TiVo in certain regions and has partnered with Tubi in the United Kingdom.

These partnerships extend Titan OS's distribution network and increase the advertising inventory it can offer to marketers.

Hyoung-Ung Kim, the company's newly appointed CFO, told TechCrunch that advertising monetisation across its own network remains central to its business. However, partnerships with additional manufacturers and sales agencies are helping the company expand its reach.

Investing in content discovery and artificial intelligence

With the new funding, Titan OS plans to improve content discovery, addressing the time viewers spend searching across streaming platforms to find something to watch.

The company is using interface improvements and artificial intelligence to make content recommendations more relevant. It also plans to work with additional content providers, including FAST channel operators, to expand the range of available programming.

Unlike platforms that promote their own streaming services, Titan OS says it does not operate a proprietary content offering. This allows it to position itself as an independent content discovery platform, working across different providers rather than directing viewers towards a single service.

The company is also applying AI to advertising recommendations and audience segmentation. These capabilities are intended to improve the relevance of advertisements and help marketers reach more suitable audiences.

Expanding its international operations

Titan OS has increased its workforce to approximately 250 employees over the past year and opened a new London office focused on advertising.

The company also operates offices in Barcelona, Amsterdam and Taipei.

Its expanding manufacturer network is helping it reach more television users and attract additional advertisers. The company believes more manufacturers could adopt independent operating systems as hardware costs rise and the economics of television sales become increasingly challenging.

For manufacturers, a revenue-sharing model offers an opportunity to generate income from advertising and content partnerships throughout the lifetime of a television.

Funding supports the next phase of growth

The $46 million financing gives Titan OS additional resources to expand its international presence, build more manufacturer partnerships and improve its advertising and content discovery technology.

With 30 million users and partnerships spanning brands such as Philips, Sharp, AOC, Vestel and Skyworth, the company is positioning itself as an independent alternative in the connected TV operating system market.

Its next phase of growth will depend on expanding distribution, improving the viewing experience and increasing the value of its advertising network for manufacturers, content providers and marketers.
