Milan-based AI startup JustSolve has raised €3.7 million in pre-seed funding to transform debt collection through AI agents that can manage recovery workflows across multiple communication channels.

The round was led by Base10 Partners, with participation from Entourage, 2100 Ventures, Vento Ventures and Ithaca. Italian founders from the startup ecosystem also participated as angel investors.

Of the total funding, €3 million was raised as equity, with the remaining €700,000 coming through grant funding. The round was reportedly oversubscribed by between three and three-and-a-half times.

From a Failed Startup Idea to Debt Collection

JustSolve was not the company's original idea.

Founder Alberta Trombetta had spent seven years working in litigation and commercial law before joining Reef, Vento's venture-building program, where she met co-founder and CTO Francesco Manicardi.

The pair initially built a dispute-resolution platform aimed at helping small businesses handle small claims. Reef provided €100,000 to support the venture.

However, the idea struggled to gain traction and nearly exhausted the founders' available capital.

Customer conversations ultimately revealed that companies were more interested in the underlying problem than the product they had built. That feedback led the founders to pivot toward debt collection.

AI Agents Handle the Recovery Workflow

JustSolve's platform is designed for creditors that need to recover unpaid debts.

Clients upload their existing credit recovery policies, after which JustSolve's AI agents execute the required workflows across channels including voice, WhatsApp, email, regular mail and PEC, Italy's certified email system.

The platform is designed to manage the process from initial payment reminders through potential legal action without requiring human involvement at each stage.

The company says it has already processed more than 2 million claims and currently handles approximately 1,000 debtor interactions every day.

Targeting Financial Services and Utilities

JustSolve currently works with buy-now-pay-later companies, e-commerce businesses and utilities, with Scalapay among the companies mentioned as a client.

The company plans to expand further into financial institutions, utilities and banks across Europe.

The majority of the new capital will be directed toward sales and product development as JustSolve expands its customer base and develops its AI-powered debt recovery platform.

A Growing European AI Opportunity

The company is entering a market where much of the established AI debt-collection competition has emerged from outside Europe.

Australia-based InDebted has raised more than $130 million and reached a valuation above $250 million following its 2024 Series C. India's Rezolv also raised $12.5 million in Series A funding in 2026 for a similar debt-collection model.

JustSolve is betting that European businesses will increasingly adopt AI agents for workflows that have traditionally depended on manual collections teams.

Base10 Partners managing partner Adeyemi Ajao said the team combines deep knowledge of a specific workflow with an approach focused on rebuilding that workflow around AI.

Building for Europe's Regulatory Complexity

Debt collection presents a particularly complex environment for AI automation because recovery processes must operate within consumer-protection and financial regulations that can vary between markets.

JustSolve's ability to apply customer policies across different communication channels and European jurisdictions will therefore be central to its expansion.

The company has set an ambitious long-term target of reaching €100 million in revenue and eventually becoming a unicorn.

With its first major institutional round now secured, JustSolve is using the capital to scale sales, product development and its AI agent platform across Europe's debt-collection market.
