Pune-based health-tech startup Clinics On Cloud has raised $12.5 million in a Series A funding round from Dubai-based investors through Model42, powered by Enlightened Minds Investments.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its artificial intelligence (AI)-led healthcare capabilities, expand research and development (R&D), grow its connected microclinic network and support international expansion.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will serve as its global expansion hub, with the company also exploring opportunities across Africa, the United States and Southeast Asia.

Building technology-enabled healthcare infrastructure

Founded in 2018 by Abhay Agarwal, Clinics On Cloud develops technology-enabled healthcare infrastructure focused on preventive healthcare.

The company initially focused on Health ATMs and has since expanded its portfolio to include Health Lounges, Box Clinics and Mobile Medical Units.

Its solutions combine preventive health screening, AI-assisted health insights and telemedicine to make healthcare services accessible through connected microclinics.

These facilities can be deployed across workplaces, housing societies, shopping malls and underserved communities.

The company's model serves multiple stakeholders, including hospitals, pharmacies, healthcare entrepreneurs, corporates and government organisations looking to establish decentralised healthcare facilities.

More than 3,500 deployments across eight countries

Clinics On Cloud has recorded more than 3,500 deployments and conducted over 12 million health screenings across eight countries, according to the company.

Its infrastructure has been deployed across government health centres, hospitals, corporate campuses and rural communities.

The company also has deployments involving Indian defence establishments, including the Army, Navy and Border Security Force (BSF).

These deployments form part of its broader effort to expand access to preventive healthcare through technology-enabled infrastructure.

Funding to strengthen AI and international expansion

The $12.5 million Series A will support further investment in AI-led healthcare capabilities and R&D, alongside expansion of the company's connected microclinic network.

Clinics On Cloud also plans to establish partnerships with healthcare providers, technology companies and organisations interested in deploying connected microclinics across international markets.

The UAE will act as the company's global expansion hub as it explores opportunities in Africa, the United States and Southeast Asia.

It also intends to collaborate with global healthcare innovators to integrate AI and advanced screening technologies into its platform.

Expanding the connected microclinic model

Clinics On Cloud is looking to build on its existing network by combining physical healthcare infrastructure with digital screening, AI-assisted insights and telemedicine.

Its expanded portfolio allows the company to serve different deployment requirements, ranging from standalone Health ATMs to larger Health Lounges and mobile medical units.

The latest funding provides capital for the company to strengthen this infrastructure, develop its technology and pursue partnerships in new markets.

With more than 12 million health screenings recorded across eight countries, Clinics On Cloud is now targeting a larger international footprint while continuing to develop its AI-led preventive healthcare platform.
