Index Ventures Announces $2 Billion in Fresh Investment Capital
Global venture capital firm Index Ventures has raised $2 billion across three new investment funds, bringing its total available investment capital to $3.5 billion.
The new capital includes:
$400 million for seed-stage investments
$900 million for venture-stage investments
$700 million added to its 2024 growth fund, increasing that fund to $2.2 billion
According to the firm, the capital will support investments across AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, fintech, healthcare, productivity, and enterprise software.
Doubling Down on AI Investments
Index Ventures said artificial intelligence is accelerating the journey from idea to product, creating new opportunities across multiple industries.
The firm has backed several AI companies, including:
Anthropic
Physical Intelligence
Fireworks AI
The new funds provide additional capital to continue investing in startups from seed through growth stages.
Funding Comes After Major Portfolio Exits
The fundraising follows one of Index Ventures' largest investment successes.
The firm was the largest outside shareholder in Wiz, which was acquired by Google for $32 billion after receiving European Union regulatory approval earlier this year.
According to the report, Reuters estimated Index's stake generated approximately $3.8 billion.
Combined with other liquidity events, including Figma's IPO, the firm reportedly generated nearly $9 billion in exits during the past year.
Growing AI Investment Momentum
Index Ventures said it will continue supporting founders from early-stage startups through public markets, with AI remaining one of its highest-priority investment themes.
The latest fundraising reflects continued investor confidence in venture firms focused on next-generation AI technologies despite broader fundraising challenges across the venture capital industry.
