Gemini Spark Integrates with Chrome to Expand Web Automation Features

Google has expanded the capabilities of Gemini Spark by integrating it with Chrome. The update allows eligible users to automate selected web-based tasks directly through the browser. Alongside the new feature, Google is also making Gemini Spark available to more users across additional countries.

Gemini Spark Can Now Work Inside Chrome

Gemini Spark now connects directly with Chrome to perform certain web tasks on behalf of users. After receiving permission, the AI can access signed-in browser sessions and saved credentials to complete multi-step activities.

For example, users can ask Gemini Spark to research flight options, begin the booking process, or schedule apartment viewings they previously saved online. Instead of switching between websites, users can let the AI manage parts of the workflow within Chrome.

However, users remain in control of important decisions. Spark hands back tasks that involve sensitive actions, including payments or final confirmations.

Security Measures Remain in Place

Google said the Chrome integration includes safeguards designed to protect users during automated browsing. According to the company, Gemini Spark is built to reduce risks such as prompt injection attacks while keeping users informed before completing critical actions.

As a result, automation is limited to approved steps, while users continue to authorize actions that require personal or financial decisions.

Feature Rolls Out First in the United States

The Chrome browsing capability is currently rolling out to users in the United States. Google plans to introduce the feature in additional regions over time, although the company has not shared a specific timeline.

Gemini Spark Expands to More Countries

Besides the Chrome integration, Google is expanding Gemini Spark to a wider international audience.

Starting this week, Google AI Pro subscribers in more than 160 additional countries can access Gemini Spark. The broader rollout gives more subscribers the ability to automate everyday digital tasks through Google's AI assistant.

The latest update reflects Google's continued effort to extend AI-powered productivity features while maintaining user oversight during sensitive online activities.
