Mumbai-based laundry and home cleaning brand Ecosys has raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by GVFL Prarambh Fund, with participation from Proteus Partners, backed by operator-investors Puru Gupta and Sreejith Moolayil.

The latest round takes Ecosys' total funding raised to Rs 7.94 crore.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its brand, expand its digital reach and develop new product formats across laundry and home cleaning.

Building Around Laundry Pods

Founded in 2017 by Sumit Goyal and Chirag Dangi, Ecosys develops laundry and home cleaning products with a focus on laundry pods.

Its 20-ml laundry pods use water-soluble PVA film and combine detergent, fabric softener and stain remover into a single pre-measured dose.

The pods are designed for both top-load and front-load washing machines, offering an alternative to conventional powder and liquid detergents.

Expanding Digital Distribution

Ecosys sells its products through e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms, giving the brand access to consumers looking for convenient household cleaning products.

The company plans to use the new capital to expand its digital presence while continuing to build awareness and adoption of laundry pods in India.

It also intends to develop new formats across the broader laundry and home-cleaning category.

Growing Household Cleaning Market

According to market research cited by Ecosys, India's household cleaners market is growing at nearly 14% annually, more than twice the reported global growth rate.

The growth of quick commerce and e-commerce is also creating additional distribution opportunities for emerging home-care brands.

Ecosys is positioning its pre-measured laundry pods as a convenience-focused alternative to traditional detergent formats.

Competition in Home Care

The funding comes amid increasing activity in India's laundry and home-cleaning segment.

Koparo raised Rs 14.5 crore in an extended pre-Series A round, while Cleevo secured $1 million in seed funding.

Other brands in the broader category include Beco, which raised $10 million from Tanglin Venture Partners, and Scrubsy, which raised Rs 27 crore from V3 Ventures in August 2026.

Scaling the Brand

With Rs 7.94 crore in total funding, Ecosys is now looking to expand beyond its existing product offering and strengthen its position in India's evolving home-cleaning market.

The new capital will be directed toward brand building, digital distribution and product development as the company works to increase adoption of laundry pods and introduce new cleaning formats.
