Perceptual Robotics Secures Over £4 Million
UK-based Perceptual Robotics has secured more than £4 million in funding to accelerate the development of its AI-powered wind turbine inspection platform and expand its global operations.
The funding comes from Investing for Purpose, Loggerhead Ventures, and One Planet Capital, alongside support co-funded by Innovate UK through UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
The company will use the investment to strengthen offshore inspection capabilities, enhance its AI platform, and expand into additional international markets.
AI and Autonomous Drones for Wind Inspections
Founded in 2016 by Kostas Karachalios, Dimitris Nikolaidis, and Kevin Driscoll-Lind, Perceptual Robotics develops autonomous drone systems combined with AI-powered inspection software for wind turbine maintenance.
Its drone platforms—Dot and Eve—collect inspection data that is analyzed by AI to:
Detect blade damage
Assess defect severity
Prioritize repairs
Support maintenance planning
The technology helps wind farm operators reduce manual inspections, improve maintenance efficiency, and extend turbine lifespan.
