Omio Raises $10 Million to Accelerate AI-Powered Travel Platform

Berlin-based multimodal travel platform Omio has secured a $10 million strategic investment from Granite-Integral to expand its presence across Japan and Southeast Asia.

Founded by Naren Shaam, Omio plans to use the funding to strengthen its AI technology hub in Singapore, deepen partnerships with regional transport operators, and simplify cross-border travel through its multimodal booking platform.

Expanding AI-Driven Travel Across Asia

Omio aggregates rail, bus, ferry, and flight options into a single platform, enabling travelers to compare routes, prices, and travel times across multiple transport providers.

The company currently offers bookable transport services across 47 countries, sells more than 100,000 tickets daily, and serves over one billion users annually through its Omio and Rome2Rio platforms.

Supporting Regional Growth

The investment follows Omio's expansion into Japan and comes alongside its planned acquisition of Rail Europe, which is expected to create a combined business selling more than 22 million rail tickets annually across 28,000 transport operators and travel sellers.

Omio aims to expand into more than 70 markets by 2028, with Japan and Southeast Asia serving as key growth regions.
