Omilia Secures $67 Million Series B Funding

Athens-based customer experience technology company Omilia has raised $67 million in Series B funding to expand its AI-powered customer support platform and accelerate growth in the U.S. market.

The round was led by Expedition Growth Capital. The latest investment follows the company's $20 million funding round in 2020 from Grafton Capital.

Since its previous raise, Omilia says it has grown its annual recurring revenue (ARR) 10x to $60 million.

AI-Powered Customer Service with a Hybrid Approach

Founded in 2002, Omilia develops AI-powered customer service solutions that automate voice calls, chat, and messaging across contact centers.

Rather than relying exclusively on large language models (LLMs), Omilia uses a hybrid AI approach, combining multiple AI technologies to match the complexity of customer queries.

Its platform enables organizations to:

  • Automate customer calls and conversations

  • Deploy self-learning AI agents

  • Handle voice, chat, and messaging interactions

  • Improve customer service efficiency while reducing operational costs

According to CEO Dimitris Vassos, many customer support requests involve routine tasks such as checking account balances, where lightweight automation is more efficient than deploying large language models.
Growing Enterprise Customer Base

Omilia serves enterprise customers across banking, utilities, and quick-service restaurants.

Its customer portfolio includes:

  • Capital One

  • Discover

  • RBC

  • DWP

  • PSEG

  • Taco Bell

The company said its voice-ordering technology has already been deployed in more than 1,000 Taco Bell locations and is currently in discussions with additional quick-service restaurant chains in the United States.

Funding to Accelerate U.S. Expansion

The new funding will be used to:

  • Open a new U.S. office

  • Expand go-to-market operations

  • Hire senior leadership, including:

    • Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)

    • Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

    • Vice President of Revenue Operations

  • Continue scaling its AI-powered customer support platform

Omilia currently employs around 500 people and expects to grow its workforce to approximately 600 employees by the end of the year.
