Neuraspace Secures €15.6 Million to Expand AI Space Safety Platform
Portuguese space technology startup Neuraspace has raised €15.6 million to expand its AI-powered Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Space Traffic Management (STM) platform.
The funding includes €6 million in private investment from Lince Capital, Explorer Investments, and Armilar Venture Partners, alongside €9.6 million from Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
Protecting Satellites with AI
Founded in 2020, Neuraspace develops AI-driven software that helps satellite operators detect collision risks and manage increasingly crowded orbital environments.
Its platform combines commercial and sovereign sensor data with AI-powered risk analysis to provide automated collision warnings and maneuver recommendations, reducing the need for manual monitoring.
Beyond collision avoidance, the company has expanded into defense applications through NeuraspaceDEF, which detects threats such as:
Cyberattacks
GPS spoofing
Signal jamming
This enables governments and defense organizations to better protect critical satellite infrastructure.
Serving Commercial and Government Customers
Neuraspace currently monitors more than 600 satellites worldwide for commercial, institutional, and defense customers.
Its customer base includes organizations such as Spire Global, NanoAvionics, Sidus Space, the European Space Agency (ESA), the Portuguese Air Force, and NATO.
The company also reported more than 350% revenue growth over the past year, reflecting increasing demand for autonomous space operations.
Funding to Expand Autonomous Space Operations
The new capital will be used to:
Expand autonomous satellite operations
Strengthen sensing infrastructure
Enhance AI-powered Space Domain Awareness capabilities
Grow defense and government solutions through NeuraspaceDEF
Support international expansion
Leadership
Neuraspace is led by Chiara Manfletti, former President of the Portuguese Space Agency and former Senior Adviser to the Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA).
According to Manfletti, protecting satellites today requires addressing both accidental collisions and intentional threats as space becomes increasingly congested and strategically important.
