Bengaluru-based space infrastructure and mission operations startup Kepler Aerospace has raised $8 million in a Seed funding round led by Blue Ashva Capital, with participation from Finvolve India Accelerator and other investors.

The fresh capital will support the development and deployment of next-generation space-based persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. Kepler Aerospace also plans to scale its mission operations and avionics-as-a-service businesses.

Building Infrastructure for Complex Space Missions

Founded in July 2018 by Navneet Singh and Kiran Sharma, Kepler Aerospace develops space and ground systems for strategic, defence and commercial missions.

The company's capabilities span satellite avionics and subsystems, ground infrastructure, mission operations and space-based intelligence.

Kepler Aerospace is focused on building scalable infrastructure that can help satellite operators deploy, operate and manage increasingly complex missions.

Its technology is designed around reliability, automation, security and scalability, with applications across India's growing strategic and commercial space ecosystem.

Developing Persistent Space-Based ISR

One of Kepler Aerospace's major focus areas is space-based Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance.

The company aims to address the growing demand for persistent and low-latency intelligence from space by developing systems capable of continuously collecting and delivering information.

Kepler Aerospace says its infrastructure can help reduce intelligence latency from months to minutes through persistent ISR systems and integrated mission operations.

The approach is particularly relevant for defence applications where timely intelligence can play an important role in surveillance, monitoring and decision-making.

IDEX Contracts and Defence Focus

Kepler Aerospace claims to have secured two IDEX prime contracts to provide swarming ISR constellations for India's defence space ecosystem.

The projects are supported by approximately $4 million in grants through the Innovations for Defence Excellence (IDEX) programme.

The contracts provide Kepler with an opportunity to develop and deploy space-based capabilities for India's emerging private defence and space technology ecosystem.

More Than 70 Ground Stations

The model is designed to provide satellite operators with access to avionics and related infrastructure without requiring them to build every component internally.
