InspeCity Raises Rs 100 Cr to Advance Autonomous Space Servicing

InspeCity, a space technology company focused on autonomous in-space servicing, has raised Rs 100 crore (approximately $10.5 million) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Speciale Invest and Ashish Kacholia.

The round also saw participation from Antler Elevate, Antler India, Manish Gandhi, Shastra VC, and other investors. The funding marks InspeCity’s transition from technology development and validation toward flight qualification, orbital deployment, and commercial delivery.

Building Infrastructure for the Space Economy

Founded in 2022, InspeCity is building infrastructure for the emerging space economy, with a focus on moving, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, refuelling, and assembling assets in orbit.

Its near-term focus is VEDA (Vehicle for life-Extension and Deorbiting Activities), an autonomous in-space servicing architecture designed to extend satellite lifetimes and enable more advanced orbital servicing capabilities.

The Technology Behind InspeCity’s Vision

The company has developed several technologies supporting this vision. GITA is designed for spacecraft propulsion and mobility, CHAKSU supports sensing, navigation and proximity operations, RAMA enables robotic manipulation, while SPARSH is designed for autonomous docking and in-orbit propellant transfer.

Together, these systems form the technology base for RIG, VEDA and SAMA orbital platforms, covering remote inspection, satellite life extension and space-based maintenance.

Four In-Orbit Missions Planned

The fresh capital will support InspeCity’s next phase of flight qualification, commercial deployment and scale-up.

Over the next 12-18 months, the company plans to execute four in-orbit missions across its RIG-X, VEDA-X and SAMA-X roadmap, progressively validating its propulsion, sensing, autonomous operations, robotics, docking and refuelling capabilities in space.

Scaling Commercial Deployment

InspeCity will also expand the commercial deployment of its GITA propulsion systems and RIG-based capabilities while increasing its engineering, manufacturing and mission execution capacity.
