Israeli cybersecurity startup Huskeys has raised $8 million in a Seed funding round. The company aims to address gaps in web application security by improving how existing systems operate.

Founded in 2025, Huskeys focuses on web application firewalls (WAFs). These systems have been widely used for decades. However, their core structure has seen limited change over time.

Adding an AI layer to existing security systems

Instead of replacing traditional firewalls, Huskeys adds an artificial intelligence layer on top. This layer analyzes and manages firewall configurations.

As a result, the system can continuously review rules and network settings. It also adjusts them to better identify legitimate users and block malicious traffic.

This approach aims to reduce false positives. In many cases, such errors prevent real users from accessing websites. Consequently, businesses may lose revenue due to blocked transactions.

Addressing revenue risks caused by misconfigurations

The company highlighted a case where its platform detected a misconfigured firewall. The issue had blocked customers from completing purchases on an e-commerce platform.

After adjusting the rules, the system restored normal operations. This change helped avoid potential losses that could have reached millions of dollars.

Therefore, the platform focuses not only on security but also on maintaining business continuity.

Introducing “Edge Security Management”

Huskeys defines its offering as a new category called “Edge Security Management.” The system is designed to improve visibility and control over existing security infrastructure.

Moreover, it works across multiple cloud environments and firewall providers. Importantly, it does not require any changes to application code.

This makes deployment faster and less complex for organizations.

Early adoption by global companies

Despite being less than a year old, Huskeys reports early adoption from several global companies. These include TikTok, Merlin Entertainments, and Hugging Face.

Currently, the platform processes more than one trillion traffic requests. It also analyzes thousands of firewall rules across tens of thousands of domains.

Founders and investor participation

Huskeys was founded by Itai Gafni (CEO) and Roy Weissfeld (CTO). Both previously served in Israel’s Unit 8200.

Gafni worked on artificial intelligence initiatives, while Weissfeld focused on web security research.

The Seed round includes participation from venture capital firms, cybersecurity founders, and enterprise security leaders. In addition, several investors from outside the technology sector joined the round, including athletes and sports-backed investment platforms.

Expansion plans

At present, Huskeys has a team of around 20 employees, mainly based in Israel.

Going forward, the company plans to expand its research and go-to-market teams. The focus will remain on improving security operations without requiring organizations to replace their existing infrastructure.
