Sila Secures $300 Million to Expand Advanced Battery Manufacturing
California-based battery technology company Sila has raised $300 million in private equity funding to accelerate the production of its silicon-carbon battery technology in the United States.
The funding round was led by Atreides Management and Sutter Hill Ventures, with participation from 8VC, Bessemer Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and other existing and new investors.
Advancing Silicon-Carbon Battery Technology
Founded in 2011, Sila develops advanced battery materials designed to improve energy density and performance across multiple industries.
Led by Gene Berdichevsky, the company manufactures Titan Silicon, its proprietary silicon-carbon (Si/C) anode technology, which supports applications in electric vehicles, robotics, artificial intelligence, satellites, drones, and consumer electronics.
Supporting U.S. Manufacturing Expansion
Sila plans to use the new funding to accelerate domestic production of Titan Silicon and support the planned Phase 2 expansion of its manufacturing facility in Moses Lake, Washington.
The investment strengthens the company's efforts to scale next-generation battery materials while expanding advanced manufacturing capabilities in the United States.
