AI-first consumer health and wellness company Cradlewise has raised $12 million in Series A funding to expand its smart infant sleep products across new distribution channels and international markets.
The round was led by 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management. The funding will support growth, channel expansion, product research and development, and the company's global expansion plans.
Building smarter infant sleep technology
Founded in 2019 by Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil, Cradlewise develops technology designed to help infants sleep better while reducing the effort required from parents.
Its flagship smart sleep system combines a crib, contactless monitoring, adaptive motion and a connected mobile application. The system uses sensors to monitor movement, sound, sleep state and other contextual signals.
According to Cradlewise, the technology can detect early signs that a baby is stirring and automatically respond with motion designed to settle the baby before they fully wake. The company says its system can save parents up to two hours of effort each day.
The company was founded from the personal experience of its co-founders, who wanted to create a product that could actively help babies sleep rather than simply alert parents when they wake.
Expanding beyond the smart crib
Cradlewise plans to expand its distribution through online and retail channels, partnerships and international markets.
The company is also developing products beyond its existing crib, including software-based sleep routines, additional child-sleep hardware and lower-priced products. These initiatives are designed to extend the company's relationship with families beyond the 0-24-month infant stage.
The startup says its technology is protected by patents covering its hardware and sensing systems and that its products have generated more than 75 million hours of sleep data.
Manufacturing from Pune, global ambitions
Cradlewise is headquartered in San Francisco, with manufacturing operations in Pune. Its manufacturing facility can produce, test and pack thousands of units each month, giving the company greater control over its hardware production as it scales.
3one4 Capital highlighted the combination of Cradlewise's product technology, proprietary data, manufacturing capabilities and customer trust as key factors behind its investment.
The company has now raised $26 million in total funding, with previous investors including Sean O'Sullivan Ventures, Footwork VC and Charles River Ventures, alongside 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management.
With its latest Series A round, Cradlewise is aiming to turn its AI-powered approach to infant sleep into a broader global child-sleep platform built from India and the US.
