Building Software Using AI Without Coding
Founded in 2024 by brothers Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, Emergent enables individuals and small businesses to create software applications using natural language prompts through its agentic AI platform.
Instead of writing code, users can describe what they need, and the platform generates production-ready applications designed for business use.
According to the company, more than 12 million applications have already been built using the platform, with most users being entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Helping Small Businesses Reduce Software Costs
Emergent says its platform significantly lowers the cost of custom software development.
The company shared the example of a truck fleet owner in the United States who replaced manual WhatsApp-based operations with a custom mobile application built using Emergent. The transition reportedly reduced annual software expenses from approximately $25,000 to around $100.
The startup believes AI can make custom software accessible to businesses that previously could not afford traditional software development.
Platform Available in 190 Countries
Emergent's AI platform is now available in 190 countries, serving customers across multiple industries.
The company stated that approximately one-third of its revenue comes from the United States, another one-third from Europe, while India contributes around 9% of total revenue.
Businesses use the platform to build applications such as:
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
Online marketplaces
Digital storefronts
Financial dashboards
Workflow automation tools
Vision for AI-Powered Business Operations
Looking ahead, Emergent plans to evolve beyond application development by creating a comprehensive AI-powered operating system that enables businesses to automate their operations from end to end.
The company believes autonomous AI platforms will help small businesses compete more effectively by making enterprise-grade software affordable, accessible, and easier to build without programming expertise.
