AI-native semiconductor verification startup VerifAIX has raised $5 million in a seed funding round co-led by Endiya Partners and Bluehill VC, as the company works to modernize how increasingly complex chips are verified before production.
The fresh capital will be used for product development, customer deployments and expansion of VerifAIX's engineering teams across the United States, India and Israel.
Founded in 2024 by Madhulima Tewari, Kenneth Roe and Avner Landver, VerifAIX is developing an AI-native verification platform designed to help semiconductor engineering teams verify complex chip designs with greater speed, coverage and traceability.
Building an AI-Native Verification Layer for Chips
As semiconductor designs become more sophisticated, verification has become an increasingly complex part of chip development. Engineering teams need to validate that designs behave according to specifications while identifying bugs and inconsistencies before a chip reaches silicon.
VerifAIX combines artificial intelligence with formal verification methods to create what it describes as a verification trust layer connecting design specifications, RTL and verification assets.
The approach is designed to maintain traceability from the original design intent through verification and final closure.
VerifAIX's "Formal Brain"
At the centre of the platform is VerifAIX's "Formal Brain", which creates a mathematically grounded representation of a semiconductor design and its intended behaviour.
The system reasons across specifications, RTL and existing verification assets to identify inconsistencies and gaps. It then uses that foundation across multiple stages of the verification process, including planning, formal analysis, simulation, coverage, debugging and verification closure.
VerifAIX also combines specification-to-RTL reasoning, automated decomposition and abstraction with coordinated formal and simulation verification.
The objective is to help engineering teams tackle complex chip designs without losing the connection between verification results and the original design intent.
Targeting Semiconductor and AI Chip Developers
The company's platform is aimed at a broad range of custom-silicon developers, including semiconductor and IP companies, processor and AI accelerator developers, hyperscalers and systems companies.
The funding comes as demand for advanced semiconductor infrastructure continues to grow alongside the expansion of AI computing.
India is also seeing increased activity across its semiconductor startup ecosystem. Chennai-based Vyoma Systems, for example, is developing AI-driven pre-silicon verification through its UpTickPro platform, combining functional verification with FPGA validation, software bring-up and security analysis.
According to a Speciale Invest and Startup Policy Forum report cited in the article, Indian semiconductor startups raised $61.9 million during the first half of 2026, taking total funding since 2022 to approximately $206 million.
Other recent funding activity includes BigEndian Semiconductors' $6 million raise for its fabless SoC platform and HrdWyr's $13 million Series A to develop AI-native SoCs.
$5M to Expand Product and Engineering
VerifAIX plans to deploy its new capital across product development, customer deployments and engineering expansion in the US, India and Israel.
With AI increasingly driving demand for custom processors and specialized silicon, the startup is positioning semiconductor verification as an area where AI can assist engineers while formal methods provide mathematical rigor and traceability.
The latest seed round gives VerifAIX additional resources to develop its platform and expand deployments as the semiconductor industry continues to build increasingly complex chips for AI and other compute-intensive applications.
