The round was led by Accel and ICONIQ, with participation from Designer Fund, Michael Grinich, Anton Osika, and engineers and designers from Anthropic and OpenAI.

Founded by Stephen Haney, Paper is developing a collaborative design platform built for teams creating software with AI and coding agents.

Designing for the AI Development Era

Paper combines a modern design environment with agent-native workflows, enabling designers and engineers to collaborate through a shared interface tailored for AI-assisted software development.

The platform is designed to streamline collaboration between design and engineering teams as AI coding assistants become an increasingly important part of the software development process.

According to the company, its platform is already used by organizations including Ramp, Lovable, Vercel, PostHog, Quartr, and Y Combinator.

Expanding AI-Native Product Development

The newly raised funding will be used to accelerate product development, expand the company's team, and further invest in AI-native workflows that improve collaboration between designers and developers.
