Metafare, a Riyadh-based healthtech startup focused on virtual healthcare experiences powered by artificial intelligence and virtual reality, has raised $1 million in its first funding round.

The investment came from Harmonics Ventures along with several family offices.

The company said it will use the funding to expand operations across Saudi Arabia, strengthen its AI-based personalization technology, and increase its digital health content library. In addition, Metafare plans to gradually enter other Gulf markets.

Focus on Virtual Health Experiences

Founded by Ibrahim Almaghlouth, Metafare develops remote healthcare experiences that combine virtual reality and artificial intelligence. The platform offers interactive health sessions designed to support physical fitness and mental wellness.

The company aims to provide short and personalized programs that users can access from home or workplaces. As a result, the platform reduces the need for traditional in-person clinic visits for certain wellness activities.

Expansion Plans Across Gulf Markets

Metafare said the latest funding will support product development and regional growth efforts. The startup is also focusing on improving its AI-driven recommendation systems to deliver more tailored health experiences for users.

Besides that, the company plans to expand its content offerings as demand for flexible healthcare services continues to grow across the Gulf region.

Growing Demand for Digital Healthcare

Since launching in mid-2025, Metafare said it has delivered more than 3,000 virtual health sessions. The company believes this reflects increasing interest from both individuals and organizations seeking accessible and technology-enabled wellness solutions.

The broader healthcare industry has also seen rising adoption of digital tools, particularly in areas related to remote care, fitness, and mental health support.
