Elio Secures $21 Million in Funding
San Mateo-based AI hardware startup Elio has raised $21 million in funding to accelerate the development of intelligent sensors built specifically for artificial intelligence systems.
The round was led by Innovation Endeavors and Xora, with participation from Kevin Weil, Scribble VC, UpWest, and Resolute Ventures.
Led by Founder and CEO Nadav Grossinger and Chief Technology Officer Nitay Romano, Elio is developing a new generation of sensors that enable AI systems to determine what information should be captured in real time.
Building Sensors Designed for AI
Unlike traditional cameras that capture fixed images for later analysis, Elio's technology allows AI models to dynamically decide what visual information to collect based on the task they are performing.
By capturing only the most relevant data at the right moment, the company aims to improve efficiency and performance across AI-powered vision systems.
Elio's sensor technology is designed for applications including microscopy, semiconductor manufacturing, robotics, and defense.
Supporting Product Development
The newly raised funding will be used to expand the company's operations and accelerate product development as it advances AI-native sensing technologies for industrial and scientific applications.
