Atoms Secures $1.7 Billion to Expand Robotics Vision
Robotics company Atoms has raised $1.7 billion in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) to accelerate the development of robotics and industrial automation technologies.
The round also included participation from Bain Capital, Fifth Wall, Uber, and other investors. Following the investment, Ben Horowitz will join the company's board of directors.
Building the Future of Industrial Robotics
Founded and led by Travis Kalanick, Atoms is the rebranded holding company built on his post-Uber venture, CloudKitchens. The company is focused on applying software, artificial intelligence, and robotics to improve productivity across manufacturing, logistics, transportation, and industrial operations.
Earlier this year, Atoms acquired Pronto, an industrial automation company specializing in autonomous technology for heavy industries, strengthening its robotics portfolio.
Supporting Growth and Product Development
The new capital is expected to support product development, hiring, and the expansion of Atoms' industrial robotics initiatives.
The company aims to build foundational robotics platforms capable of improving productivity across physical industries through AI-driven automation.
