Role overview

Summary

As the first Director of Go-to-Market Engineering, you will lead the strategy, architecture, and hands-on development of automated systems to optimize Perk's revenue operations. This player-coach role involves defining the GTM engineering stack, building agentic workflows, and bridging commercial problems with technical solutions to drive tangible business outcomes.

POSITION: Director of Go-to-Market Engineering

COMPANY: Perk

REPORTS TO: VP of Revenue Operations

LOCATION: Hub locations (In-person 3 days/week; Europe or North America)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Perk is hiring its first Director of Go-to-Market (GTM) Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, and deployment of automated systems across an 800-person revenue organization serving over 10,000 customers. Operating as a hands-on player-coach, the Director owns the GTM technical stack end-to-end, eliminates manual sales overhead, builds agentic workflows, and leads a distributed senior engineering team to drive tangible pipeline and revenue impact.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architecture & Stack Ownership:

- Define Perk's global GTM engineering architecture across CRM, enrichment, intent signaling, sequencing, orchestration, and data layers.

- Evaluate, adopt, consolidate, and retire commercial tools, aligning stack decisions directly with ROI.

- Co-create delivery roadmaps with the VP of RevOps, Sales leadership, and Revenue Systems teams.

- Establish technical standards for version control, documentation, quality assurance, testing, and system rollback.

Hands-on Development & Agentic Automation:

- Build directly in Clay using complex tables, waterfall enrichment, webhooks, and AI columns for production workflows.

- Architect robust orchestration logic governing how, when, and why records trigger automated flows.

- Implement production LLM agent workflows that automate prospect research, lead qualification, summary generation, and data entry.

- Write maintainable code for integrations and data pipelines using Python, SQL, SOQL, or TypeScript.

Full-Funnel Automation (SDR, AE, AM):

- Automate end-to-end prospecting: TAM sourcing, multi-source enrichment, ICP and intent scoring, prioritization, and routing.

- Automate non-selling tasks for Account Executives: CRM autofill, quoting, meeting prep, opportunity hygiene, and initial outreach.

- Build account intelligence for Account Management: whitespace identification, risk signals, and retention tracking.

- Ensure every automation project is fully instrumented, validated, and stress-tested before scaling.

Team Leadership & Commercial Partnership:

- Recruit, lead, and mentor a senior, multi-region team across Europe and North America.

- Partner with regional Sales VPs to identify conversion bottlenecks and translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Quantify automation ROI by measuring time returned to quota-carrying roles and pipeline acceleration.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required Experience:

- Background in Revenue Operations, GTM Engineering, Sales Systems, or Growth Engineering within high-scale B2B SaaS.

- Proven track record designing and maintaining GTM systems relied upon by hundreds of frontline sellers.

- Demonstrated player-coach ability: skilled in technical architecture, hands-on execution, and team mentorship.

Technical Expertise:

- Advanced production experience with Clay (waterfalls, API integrations, and AI columns).

- Deep Salesforce proficiency (data models, limits, and integration patterns).

- Working proficiency in at least one relevant coding language: Python, SQL, SOQL, or TypeScript.

- Strong knowledge across core modern GTM tooling:

- Enrichment & Data: Apollo, Clearbit, ZoomInfo, Cognism, PredictLeads.

- Intent & Signals: 6sense, Bombora, UserGems.

- Sequencing & Orchestration: Outreach, Salesloft, n8n, Make, Workato.

- Data Infrastructure: Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience founding or scaling a GTM Engineering team within a SaaS company exceeding $100M ARR.

- Experience delivering global automation rollouts across North America and EMEA.

WORK MODEL & REQUIREMENTS

- Office Model: In-person collaborative setup (3 days per week on-site at regional hubs).

- Relocation assistance available for eligible candidates; working language is English.
