Yope Secures $12.3 Million to Expand Private Social Networking
London-based social networking startup Yope has raised $12.3 million in funding to expand its private, AI-powered social platform designed around small groups of friends and family.
The funding round was led by Northzone, with participation from Inovo, Redseed, and Geek Ventures. The latest investment brings Yope's total funding to $20 million.
Building a Social Network Without Ads or Algorithms
Founded by Bahram Ismailau and Paul Rudkouski, Yope is developing a private social platform that eliminates algorithmic feeds, advertising, and public content in favor of invite-only micro communities.
The platform enables users to share photos, videos, messages, and AI-generated recaps while keeping accounts private by default. Yope also plans to introduce AI-powered mini-games and features that help friends organize real-world meetups.
Scaling Product Development and U.S. Expansion
Yope currently has nearly 15 million registered users, with users sharing 10–20 million pieces of content each week.
The new funding will be used to further develop the platform, expand its team, and establish a United States office as the company continues growing its global user base.
