Picogrid, a defense technology company based in El Segundo, California, has raised $45 million in a Series A funding round.
The investment was led by Bessemer Venture Partners. Other participants included Washington Harbour, GSBackers, Initialized Capital, Starburst Ventures, Credo Ventures, Giant Step Capital, Alumni Ventures, and several industry-focused angel investors.
The company said it will use the funding to expand its product portfolio, strengthen integration capabilities across additional operational environments, and support deployments with the U.S. military, allied defense organizations, and technology partners.
Focus on Defense System Integration
Founded by Zane Mountcastle and Martin Slosarik, Picogrid develops hardware-enabled software designed to connect military and industrial systems. Its platform helps integrate sensors, unmanned systems, and digital infrastructure into a single operational environment.
The company's technology supports data exchange and coordinated control across multiple domains, including land, sea, air, and space operations.
Expanding Integration Network
According to the company, its integration ecosystem now includes more than 100 defense systems from both established contractors and emerging technology providers.
The network includes systems from companies such as Skydio, Northrop Grumman, Echodyne, CX2, and Neros. Through these integrations, defense operators can deploy technologies from different vendors without rebuilding communication and control networks for every new system.
Picogrid said this approach is intended to simplify interoperability and help organizations adapt to changing operational requirements more efficiently.
