Pangram Secures $9 Million in Funding
New York-based Pangram, an AI content detection startup, has raised $9 million in funding to expand its technology for identifying AI-generated text and images.
The round was led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from Haystack, ScOp, Script Capital, and Cadenza.
Alongside the funding announcement, the company introduced its next-generation Pangram 4 AI text detection model and launched Pangram Image, an AI image detection model currently available in research preview.
Founded around 2024 by Stanford AI and machine learning graduates Max Spero and Bradley Emi, Pangram focuses on helping organizations distinguish between human-created and AI-generated content.
Building AI Detection for Text and Images
Pangram's detection platform is designed to identify fully AI-generated content as well as writing that combines human authorship with AI assistance.
According to the company, Pangram 4 achieves more than 99% accuracy in detecting AI-assisted writing, mixed human-AI content, and text modified using AI humanizer tools.
Rather than relying on metadata or hidden watermarks, Pangram trains its machine learning models using millions of human-written documents alongside synthetic AI-generated versions to identify stylistic differences between human and AI writing.
The company has also introduced Pangram Image, extending its detection capabilities to AI-generated images.
Supporting Growth of AI Detection Technology
The newly raised capital will support the continued development of Pangram's AI detection platform as demand grows for tools that improve transparency around AI-generated content.
The launch comes as organizations across media, education, and professional services increasingly seek solutions to identify AI-generated text and images while maintaining trust in digital content.
