Hint Secures $10 Million in Funding

New York-based Hint, an AI-powered home management startup co-founded by Martha Stewart, has raised $10 million in funding to support the launch and growth of its homeowner-focused platform.

The funding came from Montauk Capital, Brian Kelly (The Points Guy), Slow Ventures, Tusk Venture Partners, Energy Impact Partners, Amplo VC, and Hannah Grey.

Founded in 2024, Hint is led by CEO Yih-Han Ma and Co-founder & CTO Kyle Rush. Martha Stewart serves as a co-founder with an equity stake and actively contributes to product development, branding, and user experience, although she is not a financial investor.

An AI Assistant Designed for Homeowners

Hint uses artificial intelligence to help homeowners manage property maintenance, documentation, and household operations.

After users enter their home address, the app builds a property profile using publicly available information such as property records, weather conditions, soil data, and utility information. Homeowners can also upload inspection reports, warranties, insurance policies, contracts, invoices, mortgage documents, and appliance information.

The platform's AI assistant can answer questions about the home, recommend maintenance schedules, organize documents, assess environmental factors, and provide guidance on topics including insurance, energy usage, and appliance care.

Hint also generates a personalized maintenance schedule with proactive reminders and provides an overall "home score" that reflects how well a property is being maintained.

Expanding Practical AI for Everyday Home Management

The company plans to keep its core AI capabilities free while introducing premium subscription features in the future, including support for managing multiple properties.

Hint currently generates revenue through affiliate partnerships with home service providers, which the company says are separated from its AI recommendation system to avoid bias.

The newly raised funding will support the continued expansion of the platform as it aims to make AI-powered home management more accessible to homeowners.
