Pune-based green energy startup Greenjoules has raised approximately ₹62 crore ($6.5 million) in a Series B funding round led by Amazon.com NV Investment Holdings, Amazon’s investment arm, with participation from Singularity Strategic Autonomy Fund.
According to regulatory filings, Amazon.com NV Investment Holdings invested ₹45 crore by acquiring 40,338 Series B1 preference shares, while Singularity Strategic Autonomy Fund contributed approximately ₹17 crore.
The fresh capital will help Greenjoules scale its operations and accelerate the development of renewable fuels made from agricultural waste.
Founded in 2018 by S Viraraghavan, V Radhika, VS Shridhar and R Sethunath, Greenjoules converts farm residues into renewable fuels that can be used as alternatives to conventional fossil fuels in existing diesel engines and industrial equipment.
The company is also working on next-generation clean fuel technologies, including sustainable aviation fuel, green hydrogen and biomethane.
The latest investment comes as demand for waste-to-energy and low-carbon fuel solutions grows in India, with companies looking for alternatives to fossil fuels across transportation and industrial applications.
With Amazon joining the round as a major investor, Greenjoules now has additional capital to expand its technology and production capabilities while pursuing its broader renewable-fuel ambitions.
