Function Health Secures $450 Million in Growth Financing

Austin-based preventive healthcare platform Function Health has secured $450 million in non-dilutive growth financing from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund (CVF).

The financing is one of the largest investments made by the fund and is structured as revenue-linked, non-dilutive capital, meaning it does not involve an equity stake or alter the company's valuation.

Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Swerdlin, Pranitha Patil, Dr. Mark Hyman, Seth Weisfeld, Mike Nemke, and Dan Swerdlin, Function Health provides annual preventive health memberships combining comprehensive laboratory testing and advanced medical imaging.

Expanding Preventive Healthcare Services

Function Health's platform offers members access to more than 160 laboratory tests, along with advanced imaging designed to detect conditions such as cancer, aneurysms, stroke, and other diseases at earlier stages.

According to the company:

  • The platform has grown to more than 500,000 members since launching its beta in 2023.

  • It has completed over 100 million laboratory tests.

The company also expanded its services through recent acquisitions, including:

  • Getlabs, adding nationwide at-home and office blood collection.

  • SuppCo, bringing supplement evaluation through its TrustScore system.

  • Ezra (acquired in May 2025), adding a nationwide MRI scanning network with more than 200 locations.

Supporting Future Growth

Function Health said the new financing will support continued customer growth as it expands its preventive healthcare platform.

Because the funding comes through General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund, it does not affect the company's valuation, which previously stood at $2.5 billion following its $298 million Series B financing announced in November 2025.

Including previous equity funding and the latest financing, Function Health has now secured more than $800 million in total capital.
