Cambridge Aerospace Secures $300 Million Series C Funding

Cambridge Aerospace, a Cambridge, England-based defense technology startup, has raised $300 million in Series C funding at a $3.4 billion valuation to scale its low-cost air defense systems.

The round was led by DFJ Growth, with returning investors including Lux Capital, Accel, Lakestar, Never Lift, and Ora Global. The latest financing brings Cambridge Aerospace's total funding to approximately $636 million.

Founded in 2024 by Steven Barrett, Chris Sylvan, and Junaid Hussain, the company develops low-cost interceptor systems designed to address the growing cost imbalance between inexpensive attack drones and traditional interceptor missiles.

Its Skyhammer system is already being supplied to the UK Ministry of Defence under the Low-Cost Effectors & Autonomous Platforms programme. The company is also developing Starhammer, the Looking Glass radar system, and Nightstar solid rocket motor technology.

The new funding will support manufacturing expansion, faster delivery of defense systems, and continued development of Cambridge Aerospace's air defense technology for the UK and allied markets.

The company has grown to more than 250 employees across the UK, Germany, Poland, Norway, Ukraine, and Australia, with approximately two-thirds working in engineering roles.
