Bynario Raises €2.1M to Build an AI-Powered Full-Stack Cybersecurity Platform

Milan-based cybersecurity startup Bynario has raised €2.1 million in pre-seed funding to expand its AI-powered application security platform and develop its offering for enterprise customers.

The round was led by 360 Capital Partners, with participation from PranaVentures. Founded in 2025, Bynario is developing technology designed to help organisations move beyond simply identifying potential vulnerabilities toward proving which weaknesses can actually be exploited and helping security teams remediate them.

The company was founded by Alfredo Pesoli, Giancarlo Russo, and Lorenzo Cavallaro.

From vulnerability detection to remediation

Bynario's core product, Atlas, is an autonomous application security platform designed to scan code, cloud infrastructure, and software supply chains for exploitable vulnerabilities.

Traditional security scanners can generate hundreds or even thousands of potential findings. The challenge for security teams is determining which of those vulnerabilities represent genuine, immediate risks.

Atlas is designed to address that problem by validating whether vulnerabilities are actually reachable within a customer's specific environment.

Instead of simply telling a security team that a weakness exists, the platform aims to establish whether an attacker could realistically exploit it and then prioritise the most important issues.

The company is ultimately aiming to cover the full security workflow from discovery and validation through prioritisation and remediation.

An Apple vulnerability highlighted the problem

Bynario's approach gained attention after its researchers discovered a vulnerability in Apple's Screen Sharing technology.

The seven-person startup had been using AI models to identify macOS vulnerabilities, but its submission became caught in a broader backlog of vulnerability reports at Apple's bug bounty programme.

Apple later reviewed the report and patched the vulnerability.

The incident highlighted one of the challenges emerging as AI makes vulnerability research faster: security teams and bug bounty programmes can face a rapidly increasing volume of potential findings, making it harder to separate genuine threats from low-quality or fabricated reports.

Bynario is positioning Atlas around precisely this validation problem.

AI is reshaping the cybersecurity arms race

The cybersecurity industry is increasingly using AI on both sides of the security equation.

Attackers can use AI to reduce the cost and time required to discover and exploit vulnerabilities, while defenders are looking for ways to automate detection, investigation, and remediation.

Several startups are approaching different parts of this emerging market, including AI-driven offensive security, security operations automation, and red-teaming of AI systems.

Bynario's strategy is to connect more of those steps into a single workflow.

The company wants Atlas to autonomously discover vulnerabilities, validate their exploitability, prioritise the most significant risks, and help organisations close them.

Building for enterprise security teams

Bynario will use the new capital to expand its engineering team and develop Atlas for enterprise customers.

The company says its team combines security researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and academics, giving it expertise across both cybersecurity research and practical enterprise security requirements.

For investors, the opportunity lies in addressing a growing gap between the volume of vulnerabilities being discovered and the ability of security teams to investigate and fix them.

As AI accelerates vulnerability discovery, organisations may need equally automated systems to determine which findings matter and act on them.

A race against AI-powered attackers

The €2.1 million round gives Bynario the resources to develop its platform and move toward broader enterprise adoption.

The company's central proposition is ambitious: security teams should be able to use AI to discover and close exploitable vulnerabilities faster than attackers can take advantage of them.

Whether fully autonomous vulnerability validation and remediation can reliably operate in complex enterprise environments remains to be proven.

But as AI continues to lower the cost of offensive security research, the demand for faster and more intelligent defensive infrastructure is likely to grow.
