Bengaluru-based deep-tech defence and robotics startup Paar Autonomy has raised Rs 10 crore in a funding round led by AdvantEdge Founders. The fresh capital will support the company's production expansion and development of technology designed to help drones navigate without relying on GPS.

Founded in June 2024, Paar Autonomy develops AI-powered camera systems and software for drones and other unmanned defence platforms. Its technology focuses on enabling autonomous aerial, ground and maritime vehicles to perceive their surroundings, navigate challenging environments and maintain situational awareness.

The funding comes as the company looks to scale manufacturing and advance navigation capabilities for unmanned systems operating in environments where GPS signals or communications may be unreliable or unavailable.

Paar Autonomy to Expand Production and GPS-Independent Navigation

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be used to scale up production of its AI-powered camera systems and develop technology that enables drones to navigate without GPS.

GPS-independent navigation is an important capability for unmanned systems operating in contested environments. When satellite navigation signals are unavailable or disrupted, drones and other autonomous platforms can face difficulties determining their position and moving reliably.

Paar Autonomy is developing technologies intended to address these challenges through visual-inertial navigation and onboard artificial intelligence. Its systems combine camera-based perception with other sensor inputs to help autonomous platforms interpret their surroundings and navigate without depending entirely on satellite navigation.

The company also develops gyro-stabilised, multi-sensor gimbal camera payloads designed to support surveillance and tracking applications.

The latest investment follows an earlier Rs 3.5 crore pre-seed round led by Venture Catalysts. That capital was used to establish the startup's first manufacturing line and deliver pilot units.

With the new funding, Paar Autonomy plans to expand production while continuing to develop the underlying technologies for autonomous defence and robotics applications.

Building AI Systems for Unmanned Defence Platforms

Founded by Vignesh Sivaram Jayaraman, Paar Autonomy focuses on the perception layer of unmanned vehicles. This includes the hardware and software that allow autonomous platforms to collect visual information, interpret their environment and support operational decisions.

Its technology portfolio includes edge-based AI, GPS and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-independent visual-inertial navigation, and stabilised multi-sensor camera payloads.

Edge-based AI allows processing to take place directly on a device or platform rather than relying entirely on a remote server. For unmanned systems, this can support real-time perception and decision-making when network connectivity is limited.

The company also uses AI models for real-time environmental interpretation, situational awareness and target tracking. These capabilities are designed to help autonomous platforms identify and follow relevant objects while operating in complex environments.

Paar Autonomy's technologies are intended for unmanned aerial, ground and maritime vehicles, including drones, rovers and boats. This gives the company a potential role across multiple categories of autonomous defence platforms rather than limiting its focus to aerial drones alone.

Sentinel Product Series Targets Surveillance and Tracking

Paar Autonomy's product portfolio includes its Sentinel series of camera systems and payloads. The lineup comprises Sentinel 1, Sentinel 2, Sentinel Nano, Sentinel Nano Dark and Sentinel Nano Dual.

The company primarily serves defence applications, including border surveillance and tactical tracking. Its technologies are also intended for civilian applications such as industrial inspection, infrastructure monitoring and disaster response.

These use cases require systems capable of collecting and processing information in real time, particularly in environments where human access may be difficult or where continuous monitoring is necessary.

For defence customers, autonomous perception and tracking can support surveillance operations and the use of unmanned platforms in challenging conditions. In civilian settings, similar capabilities may be applied to inspecting industrial assets, monitoring infrastructure and assessing disaster-affected areas.

The company has not disclosed detailed revenue figures, production targets or customer numbers in the funding announcement provided.

India's Defence Robotics and Autonomous Systems Sector Attracts Capital

Paar Autonomy's funding round comes amid continued investment in Indian companies developing defence technology, navigation systems and autonomous robotics.

In September 2026, Aeron Systems raised $4.7 million in a pre-Series B round to expand its navigation, sensing and monitoring technologies for defence and aerospace applications.

In July 2026, Yaanendriya raised Rs 15 crore from Piper Serica to develop indigenous navigation controllers and sensors for robotics and aerospace.

General Autonomy also raised $3.8 million from Elevation Capital and India Quotient in 2026 to advance its robotics and autonomous systems.

Earlier funding rounds have also supported companies working on unmanned defence platforms. Raphe mPhibr raised $100 million in a round led by General Catalyst in June 2025, while Unmannd secured $2 million from Speciale Invest and Accel in September 2025 to commercialise autonomous aerial logistics and counter-drone systems.

These companies operate across different parts of the defence and robotics ecosystem, from navigation hardware and sensing technologies to autonomous platforms and specialised applications.

Paar Autonomy's focus is on camera systems, AI-based perception and navigation technologies that can be integrated into unmanned vehicles.

What the Funding Means for Paar Autonomy

The Rs 10 crore investment gives Paar Autonomy additional capital to expand its manufacturing capabilities and advance its GPS-independent navigation technology. Its next phase will involve scaling production of its camera systems while developing software and hardware for autonomous operations.

The company's progress will depend on its ability to move from pilot deployments to broader production, demonstrate performance in demanding operating conditions and meet the requirements of defence and civilian customers.

As autonomous systems become increasingly relevant to surveillance, inspection and other specialised operations, technologies that help unmanned vehicles interpret their surroundings and navigate in disrupted environments are becoming an important area of development.

For Paar Autonomy, the immediate priority is to translate its existing technology into scalable products for unmanned defence platforms.
