Role overview
Summary
The GRC Automation Analyst will be responsible for automating evidence collection and GRC workflows, transforming manual processes into continuous, automated pipelines. This role involves configuring the GRC automation platform, building evidence plugins, and managing compliance as code in GitHub, leveraging agentic AI systems. The analyst will also design control testing across various frameworks to drive remediation and ensure continuous assurance.
GRC Automation Specialist
Superhuman is seeking a GRC Automation Specialist to help build a unified, automated compliance program across its products. The role focuses on replacing manual, point-in-time compliance processes with continuous evidence collection, compliance-as-code, AI agents, and automated control testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and operate the GRC automation platform, including data sources, evidence collectors, plugins, analysis rules, and continuous monitoring.
Automate evidence collection and replace manual screenshot-based processes with automated control evidence.
Use Claude Code, Codex, MCPs, and similar AI tools to automate evidence requests, control mapping, gap analysis, vendor reviews, and reporting.
Manage compliance policies, controls, and automation through GitHub using branches, pull requests, and code reviews.
Build and maintain agent-assisted GRC workflows and automation.
Design and execute continuous control testing across SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017/27018, ISO 27701, PCI DSS, and ISO 42001.
Work with control owners and engineering teams to identify and remediate compliance gaps.
Ensure findings are supported by reliable, automated evidence.
Help establish scalable compliance architecture across multiple products.
Continuously identify opportunities to eliminate repetitive manual compliance work.
First 90 Days:
Learn and configure the GRC automation platform.
Build and deploy automated evidence collectors.
Retire manual screenshot-based evidence processes.
Launch at least one agent-assisted compliance workflow from start to finish.
Become productive with the team's automation and compliance-as-code practices.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in compliance, GRC, IT audit, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and related compliance frameworks.
At least 1 year of practical experience using agentic AI systems such as Claude Code or Codex for compliance work.
Demonstrated ability to deliver compliance automation rather than prototypes alone.
Comfortable using GitHub, including repositories, branches, pull requests, and code reviews.
Strong understanding of control design, evidence collection, risk management, and audit processes.
Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, including IAM, compute, storage, networking, and security controls.
Ability to quickly learn and configure new GRC and automation tools.
Strong systems-thinking and process-automation mindset.
Nice to Have:
Ability to work with APIs, JSON, logs, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or TypeScript.
Experience with GRC platforms such as Vanta, Drata, or similar.
Experience with API integrations and lightweight coding.
Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent.
Experience with AI governance, AI risk management, or ISO 42001.
Experience in technology, SaaS, engineering, or cloud environments.
Benefits:
Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits for Germany-based employees.
Life care and mental health benefits.
Generous paid time off.
Home office support.
Wellness and pet care stipends.
Learning and professional development opportunities.
Remote-first hybrid working environment.
Employee resource groups and programs supporting an inclusive workplace.
Comprehensive relocation support for Berlin, including visa assistance, destination services, and relocation funding.
About the Role:
This is a high-ownership position within a small team with direct exposure to Legal and Engineering leadership. The successful candidate will help shape the company's compliance architecture and use automation, AI agents, and compliance-as-code to build a scalable continuous assurance program rather than maintaining traditional compliance checklists.
