Summary and responsibilities

Role overview

Summary

Performs cash flow and tax return analysis, monitors financial covenant compliance, and assists with loan portfolio reporting and credit presentations. Conducts industry research, credit investigations, and analyzes financial statements to determine credit-worthiness. Ensures proper documentation in credit files and maintains control over current accounts, keeping loan officers informed.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs cash flow and tax return analysis.

  • Monitors ongoing compliance with financial covenants and initiates appropriate remedies for non-compliance.

  • Assists with loan portfolio reporting and preparation of credit presentations according to bank's policy and guidelines.

  • Conducts industry research.

  • Conducts credit investigations and analyses.

  • Analyzes financial statements and related material to determine financial conditions and trends.

  • Prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness.

  • Provides credit information and references for customers, loan officers, or other agencies as requested.

  • Ensures that all credit files include proper documentation including current financial statements, agency reports, etc.

  • Maintains control over current accounts, noting payment progress, watching for any developing problems, and keeping loan officers informed.

  • Writes credit memorandums.

  • May accompany lenders on business calls, conduct industry research and assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Finance or related field and six months business experience.

  • Limited use and/or application of basic real estate credit concepts.

  • Basic knowledge of financial statements and general analysis gained through college coursework.

  • Basic PC skills.
