Summary

This role is for an experienced Counsel or Partner attorney to join a Commercial Real Estate practice in Nashville. The position involves leading complex commercial real estate transactions, drafting and negotiating various transactional documents, and conducting due diligence. The attorney will provide strategic legal counsel to clients on real estate development, investment, and operations.

The Nashville office of a highly regarded Amlaw 100 firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Counsel or Partner attorney to join its dynamic Commercial Real Estate practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in real estate transactions who is looking to take on a leadership-oriented position with lower billable hour expectations and high-impact client engagement.


This position offers the opportunity to act as a subject matter expert, be an integral figure in the growth of a top tier National Real Estate Group, and sit as an Equity Partner. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, academically distinguished attorney with excellent writing and analytical skills, and a collaborative, business-minded approach to client service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex commercial real estate transactions

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of transactional documents, Including:

    • Purchase and sale agreements (acquisitions and dispositions)

    • Joint venture and partnership agreements

    • Commercial leases and ground leases

    • Property management and construction contracts

    • Financing and franchise agreements

    • SNDAs, easements, land options, and licenses

  • Conduct and supervise due diligence, including:

    • Title and survey review

    • Zoning and land use analysis

    • Environmental site assessments

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on real estate development, investment, and operations


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in commercial real estate law

  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee

  • Demonstrated ability to manage transactions independently and interface directly with clients

  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
