Syntetica Secures $30 Million Series A Funding
French deeptech startup Syntetica has raised $30 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate the commercialization of its textile recycling technology.
The round was led by the Ecotechnologies 2 fund, managed by Bpifrance on behalf of the French government, with participation from SWEN Capital Partners, lululemon, MAS Holdings, EQT Ventures, and several family offices. The company also received support from Bpifrance and the European Innovation Council.
Advancing Nylon Recycling Technology
Syntetica has developed a proprietary process capable of recycling both Nylon 6 and Nylon 6,6 from mixed textile waste in a single recycling process. The technology addresses one of the textile industry's major challenges by eliminating the need to separate different nylon types before recycling.
The company aims to improve recovery of post-consumer textile waste, which remains one of the largest untapped sources of recyclable materials.
Funding to Support Commercial Demonstration Plant
The newly raised capital will fund the construction of Syntetica's first commercial demonstration facility in France, enabling the company to scale its technology from laboratory research to industrial production.
The demonstration plant will be developed in partnership with Michelin's Centre for Sustainable Materials in Clermont-Ferrand and is expected to process hundreds of tonnes of textile waste annually.
Expanding Circular Materials Infrastructure
Syntetica is already collaborating with apparel brands including Victoria's Secret and Etam as demand grows for recycled textile materials.
Beyond nylon recycling, the company plans to expand its technology platform into additional materials and applications across the textile, automotive, and specialty chemicals industries, supporting more sustainable manufacturing and circular supply chains in Europe.
