Scape Secures $3.2 Million in Seed Funding

Stockholm-based startup Scape has emerged from stealth after raising $3.2 million in Seed funding to accelerate the development of its AI-native email platform.

The round was backed by Y Combinator, General Catalyst, and FundersClub, alongside angel investors Max Junestrand, Sebastian Knutsson, Sophia Bendz, Jacob Wallenberg Jr., and executives from OpenAI, Google, Meta, and Ramp.

Led by Co-founders Melvin Hagberg (CEO) and Elis Hodzic, Scape is building an intelligent email platform designed to automate inbox management and improve workplace productivity.

Building an AI-Native Email Experience

Scape replaces traditional email workflows with an AI-powered inbox that proactively drafts contextual replies, generates required file attachments, and prioritizes important communications.

The platform also features an integrated local meeting note-taker that continuously learns a user's workflow patterns while intelligently filtering low-priority emails such as newsletters to provide a cleaner inbox experience.

Originally launched through Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch, Scape aims to modernize email with AI-driven automation and local data processing.

Accelerating Product Development

The newly raised funding will be used to hire engineering and product design talent, scale the company's local AI data processing models, and expand its global early access rollout.

Scape plans to further enhance its AI-native email experience as it prepares for broader adoption.
