Sales automation startup Rox AI has raised a new funding round that values the company at $1.2 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
The round reportedly included a lead investment from General Catalyst, which had previously backed the company. However, neither Rox nor General Catalyst responded to requests for comment regarding the deal.
Revenue Projections at the Time of the Round
At the time the funding round closed last year, Rox was projected to end 2025 with about $8 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), according to two sources familiar with the transaction.
Earlier, in November 2024, the company announced it had raised $50 million in total funding. That amount included a seed round led by Sequoia Capital and a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with participation from GV (Google Ventures).
Founder Background
Rox was founded in 2024 by Ishan Mukherjee, the former chief growth officer at New Relic.
Mukherjee joined New Relic after the company acquired Pixie Labs, a software monitoring startup he co-founded, in 2020.
Building an AI-Based Revenue Operating System
Rox positions its product as an AI-powered revenue operating system. The platform integrates with widely used business tools such as Salesforce and Zendesk.
Once integrated, the system deploys hundreds of AI agents. These agents monitor customer accounts, research new prospects, and update CRM systems automatically.
As a result, Rox aims to simplify the workflow for sales teams. Instead of using multiple fragmented tools, companies can manage several functions through one platform.
Investor View on the Product
“Rox’s unique system of AI agents levels up the CRM experience,” GV investor Dave Munichiello wrote in a 2024 blog post announcing the Series A funding.
“These agents work constantly behind the scenes to monitor customer activity, identify potential risks and opportunities, and even suggest the best course of action.”
Competitive Landscape
Rox operates in a crowded and evolving market. The company competes with revenue intelligence providers such as Gong and Clari.
At the same time, newer AI sales platforms like 11x and Artisan AI are also targeting similar workflows.
In addition, new AI-native CRM companies are entering the market. One example is Monaco AI, a startup founded by Sam Blond, former president of Brex. The company recently launched out of stealth.
Customer Base
According to its website, Rox counts companies such as Ramp, MongoDB, and New Relic among its customers.
