AI-powered patient safety startup Graph AI has raised $13.3 million in Series A funding to expand its presence across the US and Europe and accelerate development of its AI-powered pharmacovigilance platform.
The round was led by Insight Partners, with participation from existing investor Bessemer Venture Partners. The financing comes nearly a year after Graph AI raised its seed round in October 2025.
Founded in 2024, Graph AI develops Graph Safety, an AI-powered platform designed to automate workflows for pharmacovigilance and patient safety teams at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Automating pharmaceutical safety workflows
Pharmaceutical companies process large volumes of adverse event reports and safety cases as they monitor medicines and therapies after and during development.
These processes can be highly manual and require extensive documentation, validation, oversight, and regulatory traceability.
Graph Safety combines artificial intelligence with deterministic controls, validation layers, and end-to-end audit trails. The system is designed to automate safety operations while maintaining human oversight and traceability throughout the workflow.
The company's goal is to reduce the time and operational resources required to process safety cases without removing the controls required in a highly regulated industry.
From hours to minutes
Graph AI says its live deployments have significantly reduced the time required to process safety cases.
According to the company, case-processing turnaround times have fallen from more than three hours to less than 10 minutes, representing a reduction of more than 90%.
Graph AI also claims its platform can reduce operating costs by as much as 66%.
These efficiency gains could be particularly valuable for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies dealing with growing volumes of safety information and increasingly complex regulatory requirements.
Building an AI-native safety platform
Graph Safety currently consists of two modules.
Intake is designed to capture and triage adverse event reports, while Nucleus functions as an intelligent safety database that automates case-processing workflows.
Graph AI is also preparing to expand the platform with additional capabilities. Its Report module, focused on automated aggregate reporting, is scheduled to launch this month.
The company is also working with customers on Signal, a product designed to identify emerging safety signals and patterns across individual cases.
Together, these products are intended to create a broader AI-powered infrastructure for pharmaceutical safety operations.
Expanding across the US and Europe
Graph AI says it has already onboarded pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers across North America and other markets.
The new $13.3 million Series A will allow the company to expand its commercial presence across the US and Europe while continuing to invest in product development.
The opportunity comes as pharmaceutical companies increasingly explore AI to automate highly specialised back-office and regulatory workflows.
However, patient safety is a particularly demanding area for AI adoption because automation must be balanced with validation, auditability, regulatory compliance, and human decision-making.
Graph AI's approach of combining AI with deterministic controls and audit trails is designed to address those requirements.
With new backing from Insight Partners and continued support from Bessemer Venture Partners, the company is now looking to prove that AI can significantly accelerate pharmacovigilance without compromising the oversight required to protect patients.
