Mumbai-based consumer technology brand EDT has raised $2.4 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by existing investor Sauce. Existing angel investors also participated, alongside a group of prominent individual and institutional investors from India's consumer, technology and startup ecosystem.
The round included participation from Alteria Capital, Raul Rai of Nicobar, Shibam Das and Arindam Paul of Atomberg, Ajith Pai of Delhivery, and Anushree Tainwala of Samsonite.
EDT plans to use the fresh capital to build inventory ahead of the upcoming festive season, launch new products and strengthen its growth, supply chain, brand and product teams.
From Kitchen Appliances to Beauty Tech
Founded in 2025 by Naiyya Saggi and Vyasateja Rao, EDT has been building a consumer technology portfolio focused on products across the home and kitchen categories.
Its current kitchen appliance lineup includes the LUMA air fryer oven and FLOW kettle. The products are distributed through a combination of online marketplaces, quick-commerce platforms, retail channels and EDT's own direct-to-consumer platform.
EDT products are currently available through Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Croma, FoodStories and its D2C platform.
The company said its business on Amazon grew nearly seven times between March and July 2026, highlighting the company's rapid expansion within a relatively short operating period.
The new funding is expected to help EDT maintain inventory levels, particularly as consumer demand typically increases around India's festive shopping season, while also supporting additional product launches and distribution expansion.
EDT Enters Beauty Tech With SUKI
Alongside its latest funding, EDT has expanded beyond kitchen appliances and entered the beauty technology segment with SUKI, a hair dryer built around what the company describes as its patent-pending CareDry Algorithm.
The product is designed around real-time monitoring of hair and airflow conditions.
According to EDT, SUKI uses dual sensors that monitor hair and airflow conditions 100 times per second. The system then adjusts the heat based on those conditions.
The approach is intended to make the hair-drying process more responsive rather than relying on a fixed heat setting throughout use.
SUKI is currently available through EDT's D2C platform at a limited-time pre-order price of Rs 8,499. The company plans to expand the product's availability to marketplaces and physical retail stores later this year.
The move gives EDT an opportunity to extend its consumer technology strategy into another category where smart hardware and differentiated product experiences can play a role.
Building an Omnichannel Consumer Technology Brand
EDT's distribution strategy already spans several different channels.
Its presence across Amazon, Flipkart and Blinkit gives the company access to large digital and quick-commerce audiences, while Croma and FoodStories provide additional retail distribution. Its D2C platform gives EDT a direct relationship with consumers and provides a channel for launching products such as SUKI.
The company's plans suggest that omnichannel distribution will remain a major part of its growth strategy.
With the new capital, EDT intends to invest in product expansion, research and development, supply chain capabilities, community building and team expansion.
The company also has three additional products in its pipeline across home, kitchen and beauty technology.
This indicates that EDT is looking to build a broader portfolio rather than remain focused on a single appliance category.
Funding to Support Product Expansion
The $2.4 million Pre-Series A round gives EDT additional capital to support this expansion.
Inventory is one of the immediate priorities, with the company specifically planning to build stock ahead of the festive season. For a consumer hardware company operating across marketplaces, quick commerce and retail, maintaining product availability can be particularly important during periods of elevated demand.
EDT will also allocate capital toward new product launches and strengthening its internal capabilities across growth, supply chain, brand and product functions.
The participation of existing investor Sauce alongside new and existing individual investors also provides continuity for the company's next stage of development.
The investor group includes executives and entrepreneurs connected to brands such as Nicobar, Atomberg, Delhivery and Samsonite, as well as institutional capital from Alteria Capital.
What's Next for EDT
EDT's next phase will focus on expanding its consumer technology portfolio while increasing distribution across online and offline channels.
The company's kitchen portfolio currently provides its base, while SUKI represents its first move into beauty technology. The three additional products in development could further broaden the company's presence across home, kitchen and beauty categories.
The company plans to continue investing in R&D, product development, omnichannel distribution and its teams as it works toward building a larger consumer technology brand.
For now, EDT's rapid Amazon growth, expansion into beauty tech and growing distribution footprint point to a strategy centered on launching differentiated consumer hardware and taking those products across multiple retail channels.
