Edgify Secures $9 Million Series A+ Funding

London-based Edgify has raised $9 million in Series A+ funding to expand its edge AI platform for retail environments.

The round was backed by Rank Ventures and Mangrove Capital, bringing the company’s total funding to $25 million.

Bringing Edge AI to Retail Infrastructure

Founded in 2019 by Nadav Israel, Edgify develops edge AI software that connects and enhances existing in-store hardware such as:

  • Cameras

  • Self-checkout systems

  • Scales

  • Point-of-sale (POS) terminals

Unlike cloud-based AI systems, Edgify runs AI models directly on local devices, allowing each machine to:

  • Train models locally

  • Share insights across the store network

  • Operate without sending raw data to the cloud

This approach reduces latency, lowers cloud costs, and improves data privacy by keeping sensitive information within the store.

Turning Stores into Intelligent Systems

Edgify’s platform enables retail environments to function as connected AI systems, where devices continuously learn from each other.

For example:

  • If one checkout detects a new fraud or scan-avoidance pattern

  • That insight can instantly propagate across all connected systems

  • Without transferring underlying video or transaction data

The platform effectively transforms isolated hardware into a unified, intelligent network for real-time decision-making.

Strong Market Tailwinds for Edge AI

Edgify is operating in a rapidly growing market:

  • Retail computer vision market estimated at $15.8 billion

  • Global edge AI market projected to grow from $36 billion to $386 billion by 2034

The company is already live with grocery retailers across the U.S. and Europe and is expanding into:

  • Quick-service restaurants (QSR)

  • Apparel retail

  • Distribution centers

Funding to Expand Platform and Market Reach

The new funding will be used to:

  • Accelerate deployment with existing grocery partners

  • Expand integrations with hardware providers

  • Scale the platform across new retail and operational environments

  • Extend capabilities beyond loss prevention into broader retail analytics

From Pivot to Platform

Edgify originated from an earlier startup, Pixoneye, which focused on analyzing smartphone photo galleries.

After pivoting, the team repurposed its edge computing technology to train AI models directly on existing retail hardware—creating a more scalable and cost-efficient alternative to cloud-heavy solutions.

Leadership

Edgify is led by Nadav Israel, Co-founder and CEO, along with Mitchell Goldman, Chief Operating Officer.

The company is headquartered in London, United Kingdom.
