Andrenam Secures $18 Million in Series A Funding
Hawthorne, California-based Andrenam has raised $18 million in Series A funding to accelerate the production of its AI-powered underwater sensing and maritime surveillance technology.
The round was led by Upfront Ventures, with participation from Valor Equity Partners, Also Capital, and First Round Capital.
The latest financing brings the company's total funding to $30 million.
Founded in 2024, Andrenam is led by Co-Founder and CEO Matej Cernosek and Co-Founder and CTO Alex Chu, both former SpaceX and defense robotics systems engineers.
Building AI-Native Maritime Surveillance Networks
Andrenam develops "Pearl," a distributed network of low-cost, intelligent passive acoustic buoys, alongside "Obsidian," an AI-native edge analytics platform.
Its edge-to-cloud sonar mesh architecture is designed to detect, track, and classify subsurface naval vessels in real time, providing persistent maritime domain awareness for defense and security applications.
According to the company, its technology has logged more than 4,500 validation hours off the U.S. Pacific coast.
Scaling Manufacturing and Defense Deployments
The newly raised capital will be used to expand manufacturing capacity for the company's fourth-generation hardware, strengthen its marine data processing infrastructure, and support fulfillment of recently secured multi-system defense procurement contracts.
The investment supports Andrenam's efforts to scale AI-powered maritime surveillance technologies for defense customers.
