The Wildlife Officer role is an operational position within the Northern Wildlife Operations team, based in Innisfail.

This role focuses on wildlife management, including working with crocodiles, cassowaries, and flying-foxes. This may require safely responding to isolated and remote situations in North Queensland for extended periods of time.

Tasks are likely to include:

  • Operating communication and navigational systems.

  • Undertaking equipment repair.

  • Using environmental indicators to make decisions.

You may be required to undertake short term stays in remote locations with little or no facilities available. Small vessel experience and marine licences such as Coxswain NSCV (Grade 1,2 or 3) are highly desirable for this role but are not a mandatory requirement. Local out of hours travel is part of the role.
