A premier commercial real estate organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to oversee daily operations at a prestigious Class A office property in downtown Chicago. This full-time, fully on-site opportunity offers a competitive salary of $80,000–$90,000, based on experience, and is ideal for a polished professional with prior experience in a similar Assistant Property Manager role, preferably within a Class A commercial office building environment. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this individual will play a key role in delivering an exceptional tenant experience while leading operational initiatives, managing property teams, and supporting financial performance. Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:

  • Oversee the daily operations of a Class A commercial office property while providing leadership to the property management support and maintenance teams to ensure an exceptional tenant experience.

  • Foster strong tenant relationships by delivering a hospitality-driven approach, addressing operational needs, coordinating property amenities and events, and supporting leasing initiatives through space tours and tenant engagement.

  • Partner with the General Manager to enhance building services, encourage amenity participation, and help cultivate a welcoming, community-focused environment.

  • Develop and manage the property's annual operating budget and capital plan while monitoring financial performance, preparing variance reports, quarterly forecasts, and investor reporting.

  • Coordinate third-party vendors, oversee maintenance contracts, and manage building improvement, repair, and capital projects to ensure quality, compliance, and timely completion.

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team by establishing performance expectations, supporting professional development, and ensuring company policies and operational standards are consistently met.

  • Collaborate with internal departments on tenant build-outs, operational projects, and ongoing property communications while identifying opportunities to improve processes and overall building operations.


Qualifications of the Assistant Property Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a focus in hospitality, business, real estate, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar Assistant Property Manager role, preferably within a Class A commercial office building environment or hospitality industry.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets, capital planning, service contracts, financial reporting, and vendor relationships.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn property management and reporting systems.

  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service while creating a positive, hospitality-focused experience for tenants and visitors.
