Role overview

Summary

This role involves providing emergency care for exotic animals, managing customer service, and overseeing hospitalization and ICU for critical patients. The veterinarian will handle nighttime emergencies, manage common species, and perform diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, and laboratory tests.

We are looking for an Exotic Animal Veterinarian to join an advanced veterinary clinic located in central Madrid, dedicated exclusively to the care of exotic animals.

The center has 24-hour emergency services, high-level diagnostic and surgical equipment (hospitalization, operating room, X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, its own laboratory, dentistry and incubation) and a stable and specialized team, in a collaborative work environment committed to continuous training and clinical quality.

Job duties

  • Emergency care for exotic animals

  • Customer service

  • Hospitalization and ICU for vulnerable and critical patients

  • Telephone and in-person management of nighttime emergencies.

  • Proper handling of common species (small mammals, birds and reptiles)

  • Diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, and laboratory tests will be assessed.

Requirements

  • Degree/Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine

  • Title validated in Spain

  • Autonomy in consultation

  • Previous experience in emergency services will be valued.

It is offered

  • Permanent contract

  • Full-time

  • Two-week rotating schedule - 7 nights worked/ 7 nights off

  • Salary €28,500 gross per year, negotiable depending on experience + night shift bonuses.

Schedule

  • Week 1 : Mon-Sun from 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM

  • Week 2 : LD - Rest.

The rotating shift system allows for a better work-life balance, with one week of work and one week of rest.
