Summary
The Marine Husbandry Aquarist I is an entry-level position responsible for maintaining clean and healthy aquariums for livestock. This role involves livestock health management, siphoning and cleaning holding spaces, and distributing feeds to marine fishes and invertebrates, along with preparing for incoming shipments and removing deceased animals.
The marine husbandry aquarist I (Operational Focus) is an entry level position. The marine husbandry aquarist I is responsible for maintaining clean and healthy aquariums for livestock. These duties include but are not limited to: livestock health management, siphoning and cleaning livestock holding, and distribution of feeds to marine fishes and invertebrates.
Primary RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Check invoices and get counts for spacing
Prepare arrival and holding spaces for incoming shipments
Handling and moving livestock as needed
Remove deceased animals from the holding systems
Prepare and distribute feeds
Clean tanks, systems, and work areas
Water testing and data entry
Secondary RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Assist livestock acclimation, freshwater husbandry, invert husbandry, packing and picking, facility maintenance teams.
Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification/Requirements
Weekend and holiday work required
Entry level - no prior experience required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Physical Requirements
Standing for more than 7 hours per day.
Able to lift 60 lbs.
