Role overview
Summary
This Associate Director role involves leading strategic real estate advisory projects for public and private sector clients. The position focuses on client and business development, property expertise, strategic thinking, and practical delivery to unlock long-term value from assets. Key responsibilities include managing project workstreams, producing high-quality strategies, and building strong client relationships.
Vercity Group manages in excess of £30 billion of infrastructure and assets for podies across the UK and Canada. We are expanding our Strategic Property Advisory (SPA) team and is looking for an Associate Director with a PM / Property background and network to help clients tackle complex real estate and portfolio challenges and unlock long‑term value from their assets.
This is a hands‑on advisory role combining client & business development, property expertise, strategic thinking and practical delivery. You'll work with public and private sector clients on high‑impact assignments spanning portfolio strategy, operating model design, asset repositioning and investment planning.
The role
You'll lead day‑to‑day project delivery, manage workstreams end‑to‑end and play a key role in shaping recommendations that are evidence‑based, commercially robust and deliverable. You'll work closely with senior leaders while building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
This is a delivery‑focused role with exposure to:
Strategy development and business case production
Portfolio analysis and performance improvement
Client engagement, workshops and senior‑level communication
Business development and service growth
What you'll be doing
Owning project workstreams, outputs, quality and deadlines
Producing high‑quality strategies, delivery plans and recommendations
Turning quantitative and qualitative data into clear, compelling insight
Diagnosing complex business and property challenges and developing practical solutions
Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and collaborators
Supporting bids, proposals and the development of new advisory propositions
Upholding strong governance, quality and professional standards
What we're looking for Essential
Experience in a consultancy or advisory environment (property, strategy, transformation, programme or professional services)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strategic reports and business cases
Commercial awareness and confidence working with financial and non‑financial data
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver to time and quality
A proactive, self‑starting mindset and strong sense of ownership
Desirable
Experience with public sector or local authority clients
Knowledge of property, development appraisal, construction or asset management
RICS or other relevant professional qualification (beneficial, not essential)
Why Vercity
Our SPA team works at the intersection of strategy, property and delivery. You'll be part of a collaborative, growing service where you can shape outcomes for clients — and help shape the offer itself.
If you enjoy solving complex problems, working closely with clients and delivering strategies that stand up in the real world, we'd love to hear from you.
