Whatnot Secures $545 Million Series G Funding
Live commerce platform Whatnot has raised $545 million in Series G funding at a $20 billion valuation, nearly doubling its valuation within a year.
The round was led by ICONIQ, Lightspeed, and Avra, with participation from Kleiner Perkins, Wellington Management, Robinhood Ventures, S32, Standard Capital, and existing investors including CapitalG, Y Combinator, Andreessen Horowitz, and DST.
Founded in 2019 by Grant LaFontaine and Logan Head, Whatnot enables sellers to host live-streamed auctions and direct sales, combining entertainment with real-time commerce.
The platform has expanded beyond collectibles into categories such as fashion, electronics, beauty, and food, while handling payments, shipping, and fraud prevention for sellers.
Whatnot has already surpassed its 2025 gross merchandise volume of $8 billion within the first half of 2026, with strong growth across buyers, sellers, and international markets.
The company now employs around 800 people across the U.S., UK, and Europe, with over 650,000 new users joining weekly.
The new funding will support international expansion, development of AI-powered seller tools, and continued investment in marketplace trust and safety.
