Virginia-based AI infrastructure company Trase has raised $107 million in seed funding to support the development of its agentic operating system and artificial intelligence agents designed for regulated industries.

The funding round was led by ARCH Venture Partners. Red Cell Partners and several strategic technology investors also participated in the round.

The company plans to use the capital to expand its go-to-market teams, strengthen its engineering operations, and continue development of its proprietary operating system, called “Trase Origin.”

Founded by CEO Grant Verstandig and President Baskar Sridharan, Trase develops an AI-native operating system that helps enterprises build, manage, and govern secure AI agents. The platform supports deployment across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.

The company focuses on industries that operate under strict compliance and security requirements. These include sectors such as healthcare and other highly regulated enterprise environments.

Trase currently operates from hubs in Seattle and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The company said its workforce has grown to 55 employees across multiple regions.

In addition, Trase has achieved HIPAA and SOC2 compliance certifications. It has also deployed document-routing AI agents within the Division of Cardiology at Duke University Health System to support clinical workflow management.
