Manchester-based energy startup Nuclear Turbines has raised £15 million in funding to accelerate the development of its compact nuclear power technology.
The round was led by IQ Capital, with participation from Rhapsody Venture Partners, Zero Carbon Capital, and Empirical Ventures.
Founded by CEO Jeremy Owston and Professor Tim Abram, Nuclear Turbines is developing compact nuclear power systems designed to deliver clean and cost-effective energy for industrial applications.
Developing High-Temperature Nuclear Power Systems
Nuclear Turbines is building compact nuclear reactors that improve conventional steam infrastructure through high-temperature turbine technology.
The company's platform features a graphite-free reactor design capable of operating at extreme temperatures, enabling efficient energy generation for industries with high power demands.
Its technology is intended for applications including industrial sites, data centers, and manufacturing facilities, where reliable low-carbon energy is increasingly important.
Accelerating Reactor Development
