Pet food and nutrition brand Lickicious has raised Rs 19 crore in growth capital through a combination of equity and institutional debt, as the company looks to scale its manufacturing capabilities and expand its presence across India's growing pet nutrition market.

The round was led by Prath Ventures, with founders of Atomberg and several senior industry CXOs also participating as early backers. The fresh capital will support Lickicious as it transitions from a digital-first business into a broader omnichannel pet nutrition brand.

Building Manufacturing Capacity

Founded in 2024 by Shashwat Sahai and Chandan Jha, Lickicious operates under Nuvexo Wellness Pvt Ltd and develops food and nutrition products for dogs and cats.

A significant portion of the new capital will go toward building a 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution footprint. The facility is expected to increase production capacity, improve supply reliability and give the company greater control over product quality.

The company is organising its next phase of investment around three priorities: capacity, capability and category expansion.

Expanding Beyond Digital-First Pet Nutrition

Alongside manufacturing, Lickicious plans to invest in research and development, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, brand building and commercial capabilities.

The company also plans to broaden its product portfolio across different products, formats and species while expanding its sales channels.

This strategy marks a shift from Lickicious' initial digital-first approach toward an omnichannel pet nutrition business capable of reaching consumers through multiple channels.

Targeting Rs 100 Cr in Revenue

Lickicious has set an annual revenue target of Rs 100 crore as a key milestone for its next phase of growth. Over the longer term, the company aims to become one of India's top three pet food companies within the next decade.

Co-founder Shashwat Sahai said the company's next phase will focus on building better products, stronger manufacturing capabilities and a stronger brand.

Prath Ventures Managing Partner Harmanpreet Singh said India's pet food market is increasingly becoming product- and trust-led, creating an opportunity for brands that can combine product development with manufacturing and distribution capabilities.

Lickicious is focusing on palatability, transparent nutrition and quality across its products for dogs and cats.

With Rs 19 crore in fresh growth capital and plans for a 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution footprint, Lickicious is now looking to build the infrastructure required to scale its pet nutrition business and pursue its Rs 100 crore revenue ambition.
